Five Useful Tips For The New Week!

Now that the lockdown order has been eased, I'm sure you already have plans. Staying Indoors for four weeks is definitely not child's play. I'm however glad that you understand that it is for a common goal; to defeat the novel Coronavirus.

Since the first recorded case in February, in Nigeria, the virus has spread and might continue spreading if we all don't help to stop the spread by taking responsibility.

It is very important to bear in mind that although The Lagos State Government may have announced an ease of the lockdown, It is not a total lift of the lockdown. Therefore, caution should not be thrown to the wind.

That said, are you wondering how to go about the new week while staying safe and obeying the restriction orders? Here are 5 Tips I'm sure you'll find helpful, whether as an essential worker, business owner, civil servant etc.

1. Positive Mindset

You'll have to agree with me that mindset is everything. Whether positive or negative, one's mindset most definitely has a strong way of affecting one's decisions and actions. As you go about your week, whether working remotely or having to go out to work, ensure to maintain a positive mindset. Have it in mind that this is a Pandemic and pandemics come and go. With the right mindset to help curb the spread, educate, enlighten and seek to know more about this virus, you're good to go! You don't want to be a part of those that don't believe this virus is real, or those that create more panic and fear, or even those that are aware they might have been exposed to a suspected or confirmed case and still go around putting others at a high risk.

Choose to be different! Stay positive and do the right thing with the right mindset.

2. Obey Restriction Orders:

It's no longer news that certain restriction orders have been put in place. Work towards obeying them. Plan and calculate your time so you're not found outside your home during the hours of the curfew. Use your nose masks in public and maintain social distancing, at work, in public transport and everywhere else applicable. Avoid social gatherings and every other restriction order put in place. Take Responsibility!

3. Workout/Exercise

Asides stretching the muscles and keeping fit, physical exercise helps the mind relax and keeps the body in shape. You don't want to go about your week with stiff joints and knotted muscles, there are a truckload and half of home workout routines on the internet to the rescue. A healthy mind is a healthy body.

4. Eat Healthy

It is important, especially at this time that you eat healthy. Fruits, vegetables and a balanced diet can do a lot to boost your immune system and make you strong. It does not have to be expensive, it just has to be healthy. Sometimes, less is more. A hearty breakfast is enough to set you in the right mood and shape to kick off the day.

5. Stay Safe

Most Importantly, endeavour to stay safe. Wash your hands as frequently as possible or use your hand sanitisers when you can't wash your hands immediately. Practice social distancing, avoid touching your face and use your nose mask. Stay at home if you feel sick with any of the Coronavirus symptoms, report suspected cases and self isolate in case of an exposure. Additionally, if you're not an essential worker or you really don't have anything completely important and urgent to attend to, please stay at home.

Let's all take responsibility, together we can defeat this virus. I'll leave you with the words of Audrey Hepburn "Nothing is Impossible, the word itself says "I'm Possible".

It is possible to defeat this virus and together we shall.
