To conclude the NGF and UNDP Executive Leadership Retreat, a closing dinner hosted by His Excellency President Paul Kagame was held to honor the visiting governors of Nigeria.
The dinner provided an opportunity for him to foster goodwill between both countries. During the event, engaging discussions took place, ideas were shared, and potential collaborations in different sectors were explored.

It was a deeply impactful experience as he learned about the horrific events that took place during the Rwandan genocide.
As he moved further into the place, he was surrounded by the stories, photographs, and artifacts of the victims. There is a deep understanding of the immense suffering and loss that occurred.
It was a stark reminder of the consequences of hatred, discrimination, and division within society.

The primary objective of this meeting was to engage in discussions and explore partnership opportunities aimed at strategically financing various infrastructure projects of the Lagos State Government.
During the meeting, the Governor highlighted a range of significant projects, including the Fourth Mainland Bridge, the second phase of the Blue Line rail, the Omu Creek Project, the Lekki-Epe International Airport, and the Lagos Food Systems and Logistics Hub in Epe.

Mr Governor received a courtesy visit from the Comptroller of the Lagos State Command of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Bala Aliyu Dangana, along with other high-ranking officers.
During the meeting, the Governor emphasized the strategic importance of the Nigeria Immigration Service's inclusion in the Lagos State Security Council, given its responsibilities for border control, migrant management, and citizen movement within the country.
He also announced that Nissan would become a part of the Lagos State Security Council, starting from the upcoming Security Council meeting.
Furthermore, the Governor urged the NIS to undertake reforms aimed at streamlining and expediting the process of issuing and collecting passports for Nigerians, making it more efficient and faster

Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has extended his congratulations to President Bola Tinubu following a significant victory at the Presidential Election Petition Court in Abuja.
According to Governor Sanwo-Olu, the victory is a testament to the hard work of APC members nationwide and a validation of the will of over eight million Nigerians who voted for the APC and President Tinubu.
Governor Sanwo-Olu expressed his views and emphasized that the court's decision aligns with the choice made by millions of Nigerians who entrusted President Tinubu with a four-year mandate based on his track record and achievements as a two-term Governor of Lagos State.
Sanwo-Olu acknowledged the democratic process and the rule of law, highlighting that the election in February witnessed a significant voter turnout and resulted in President Tinubu's election as the President of Nigeria.

The Lagos State Governor has inaugurated the distribution of food items to vulnerable households through the Lagos Food Bank program to mitigate the effects of the federal government's removal of fuel subsidy on Lagos residents.
The flag-off of the food bank program is part of the social and economic interventions by the administration to alleviate the suffering experienced by some Lagosians due to the increased transportation costs and food prices across the state.
The Governor has announced that the distribution of food items to vulnerable households will be carried out through various groups, institutions, non-governmental organizations, and community development committees, including people with disabilities and the Social Protection department in the Ministry of Economic Planning and Budget, using the social register of vulnerable individuals in the state.
He urged them to ensure transparency in implementing the intervention and monitoring the community, with members drawn from religious groups, trade unions, people with disabilities, civil society/non-governmental organizations, youth groups, community development councils, and representatives of the Lagos State House of Assembly will be constituted.
Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu further stated that the distribution would be phased among the various beneficiary groups for ease of the distribution process. These groups will be duly informed of the collection dates.
The Governor also used the opportunity to appeal for support from well-meaning and public-spirited individuals and organizations for this program so that more of our people in need of this intervention can be reached
