LASRO Seeks Support Of Royal Father For A Greater Lagos

The Lagos State Resilience Office (LASRO), has sought the involvement and cooperation of the Oloja of Epeland, Alaiyeluwa Oba Kamorudeen Ishola in respect of the activities of the Office towards the achievement of a Greater Lagos that everyone would be proud of. The Chief Resilience Officer of LASRO, Arc. Gbolahan Owodunni Oki, made the call when he paid a courtesy visit to the Palace of the Royal Father to intimate him about the strategic plan of the Office and what the future portends for a Greater Lagos. According to him, “LASRO is an Agency of the State Government established with the mandate of making the State better, through the promotion of the well-being of the citizenry and building resilience by helping people, community and institutions prepare for, withstand and emerge stronger from acute shocks and chronic stresses”. Oki, who was accompanied on the visit by the management staff of the Office, pointed out that the strategy outlined by the Agency was aimed at absorbing shocks and stresses in the myriad of challenges the State is experiencing in the 21st century while still maintaining the "Centre of Excellence" status which the State is known for. He reiterated the need for the entire residents, including those in the hinterlands, to key into the initiative to achieve the desired results for a Greater Lagos, regardless of the challenges presently confronting the State. The Chief Resilience Officer revealed that the primary purpose of the visit was to inform and enlighten the royal father on some of the guiding principles and strategic plan to be adopted to achieve the desired results and how the entire Epe community can key into the initiative. According to him, there is a need to build on existing structures, institutions, leverage on already existing innovations, technology and delivering tangible resilience outcomes to the communities and the entire citizenry of the State. Responding, Oba Kamorudeen Ishola, expressed his joy to the management for implementing policies and strategies that will bring governance closer to the people at both the local and State levels. The Oba, however, implored the State Government to ensure that the initiative is successfully implemented in order to achieve its set goals and objectives, noting that the government should assist the necessary institutions to preserve the cultural heritage and values of Lagos. While emphasising the need for the Government to ensure peaceful coexistence amongst the various religious bodies in the State, the Royal Father appreciated the efforts of the entire management of LASRO and prayed for God's continuous support and mercy in all their endeavours.
