LASUTH Hosts Delegation From Borno State
The Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) has played host to a visiting team, which came to understudy its activities, work ethics, human resources and strength, among others from the Borno State Government, to guide them in building a Teaching Hospital in Maiduguri, Borno State. Receiving the delegation, the Chief Medical Director of LASUTH, Prof. Adetokunbo Fabamwo, expressed his gratitude to the team for its intention to understudy the facility, stressing that Lagos has always being a pacesetter among other States in the Federation, especially in the effective management of its health sector. He, thereby, proceeded to furnish the visiting team with a brief presentation on the history, organogram, structure, systems and modus operandi of the hospital, focusing on areas such as funding processes, bureaucracy and other areas of interest to the delegation. The CMD also highlighted some peculiar challenges the hospital faces from time to time and how the management of the hospital and the Lagos State Government had been able to manage issues to ensure that quality service is always delivered to the populace despite all odds. Prof. Fabamwo, therefore, encouraged the Borno State Government representatives to forge ahead with their proposed plan and wished the team a successful implementation. Earlier, the team leader, Professor Ahmed Ahidjo, a Professor of Radiology and Interventional Radiology at the University of Maiduguri, explained that the visit was aimed at acquiring the necessary knowledge needed for the establishment of an efficient State Hospital in Borno. The delegation was later led on a tour of the facility by LASUTH’s Director of Clinical Services and Training, Dr. Ibrahim Mustafa.
