Oyo State Records First Coronavirus Death

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, announced that the state has recorded its first Coronavirus death.

Makinde made the disclosure via a post on his Twitter handle on Wednesday evening after the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control announced one new case in the state, which brings the total number of confirmed cases in the Oyo to 17.

According to him, the patient died at the University College Hospital, Ibadan, before his confirmation test for the virus was out.

He added that contact tracing of the deceased had since commenced.

He urged everyone who has come in contact with any COVID-19 case in the state, those who returned to the country from overseas within the last month, those with respiratory symptoms, amongst others to go for a test at the state walk-in coronavirus test centre.
