UNA Chairman Okonkwo Urges LASG To Transform Trading Environments
According to thewillNigeria.com on May 06, The Chairman of United Nigeria Airlines, Dr Obiora Okonkwo, has called on the Lagos State Government (LASG), not to only make policies that will favour traders, but also to ensure that they transform the trading environments.
Okonkwo, who made the call in a keynote address he delivered at the 2022 edition of the All Market Conference, organised by the Ndigboamaka Progressive Traders Association in Lagos, on Thursday, however, applauded the State government for transforming Lagos generally.
He advised the traders to always organise themselves in a manner that they would be able to lobby LASG to get what they want.
Dr Okonkwo equally advised the traders to seek the advice and cooperation of Standard Organisation of Nigeria (SON), The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Nigeria Customs Services (NCS) and similar government agencies, before they embark on any business step they want to take.
According to Okonkwo, by so doing, they would be able to invite the government on issues and also be able to engage the legislators both at the state and federal levels in sponsoring bills that will favour them.
The airline operators equally called on the federal and state governments to use the Igbo apprenticeship system to address the scourge of youth unemployment in the country.
