Your Purpose Travels With You

Have you ever caught yourself thinking,
"If only I could move, everything would fall into place."
It's a thought many of us have had.
Some dream of relocating abroad, believing life will finally begin when they land in a new country. Others dream of returning home, convinced that's where they'll rediscover themselves.
Over the years, I've met people on both sides of that journey. Some are thriving in Lagos. Others are building successful lives in London, Toronto, Dubai, Atlanta, or Sydney. Despite the different locations, I've noticed something they all have in common.
The people who make the greatest impact aren't defined by where they live.
They're defined by why they live.
Purpose doesn't come with a visa.
It doesn't arrive with a passport stamp.
And it certainly isn't hidden in another city.
Purpose travels with you.
Your location can open new doors, expose you to different opportunities, and broaden your perspective. Those things matter. But changing your address doesn't automatically change your direction.
If you don't know why you're here today, moving somewhere else won't answer that question.
I've seen Nigerians in the diaspora become exceptional ambassadors for our country—not because they lived abroad, but because they chose to serve, lead, mentor, innovate, and create value wherever they found themselves.
I've also met remarkable people here in Nigeria who are transforming lives every day without ever leaving home.
The common thread isn't geography.
It's purpose.
Maybe that's the question worth asking today.
Not, "Where should I live?"
But, "What am I here to do?"
Whether you're in Lagos building a business, in Abuja serving your community, in Port Harcourt pursuing your career, or halfway across the world representing Nigeria with excellence, your purpose remains the same.
Wherever you are, be known for adding value.
Be known for solving problems.
Be known for lifting others.
Be known for leaving every place better than you found it.
Because one day, people won't remember the countries you visited or the cities you lived in.
They'll remember the difference you made.
So if life takes you somewhere new tomorrow, embrace the opportunity.
Learn.
Grow.
Contribute.
But never leave your purpose behind.
Carry it with you.
Because your greatest calling isn't tied to a place.
It's carried in the person you become.
And wherever life takes you next, may your purpose always arrive before you do.
