Celebrations As Nigeria Wins South Africa | AFCON 2024
Using sports as a tool to foster relationships is a strategic and important way of building diplomatic ties between states. I had a great time with members of the African Diplomatic Corp group in Lagos as we gathered to watch the game between Nigeria and South Africa. I'm glad we came out victorious, and well done to our very own Super Eagles. The Consul Generals of Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Togo, and of course, my very own senior brother, Prof Bobby Moroe, the Consul General of South Africa in Lagos, were all present, and we all had a great time. Special thanks to the Honorable Commissioner for Youths, Hon. Bolaji Ogunlende, for joining us. As the head of the Lagos State Office Of Diaspora Affairs, whose mandate is also to cater to the needs of the diplomatic community and their diaspora communities, I will continue to foster similar engagements to build stronger relationships.
